The Basque Association for Beach Tennis and Minority Sports organized the sixth edition of the Basque Cestoball Tournament in San Ignacio, near Elorrieta. The title match was contested between Bizkaitarrak and Gogorrak in a hard-fought game.
Egoitz, a member of Bizkaitarrak, was returning from an injury that had kept him off the court—a setback that did not prevent him from becoming his team’s top scorer.
In the first half, Bizkaitarrak built a significant lead; however, in the second half, thanks to goals from Máximo and a three-point shot by Álvaro, Gogorrak managed to level the score.
Ultimately, in the final moments, Egoitz scored for Bizkaitarrak, securing the title for his team.
The Association announced that new team uniforms will be introduced by the end of the season as part of their ongoing institutional development. They also intend to secure a spot in the 2027 World Cup, which will take place in Asia (host location to be confirmed).
The fourth edition of the Bilbao Cestoball Tournament will be held in December.
La Asociación Vasca de Beach Tennis y Deportes Minoritarios organizó la Sexta edición del Torneo Vasco de Cestoball en San Ignacio, cerca de Elorrieta. El encuentro por el título lo jugaron Bizkaitarrak y Gogorrak, en un duro partido.
Egoitz, integrante de Bizkaitarrak, regresaba de una lesión que lo mantuvo alejado de las canchas, lo cual no le impidió ser el goleador de su equipo.
En el primer tiempo Bizkaitarrak sacó una considerable ventaja, pero en la segunda mitad gracias al goleo de Máximo y un tiro de tres puntos de Álvaro, Gogorrak igualó el marcador.
Sin embargo sobre el final Egoitz anotó para Bizkaitarrak, dandole el título a su equipo.
La Asociación informó que se incorporarán nuevas equipaciones para el final de la temporada, como parte de los avances institucionales. También intentarán obtener un cupo para la Copa del Mundo 2027 que se llevara a cabo en Asia (sede a confirmar) en 2027.
En diciembre, se realizará el IV Torneo Bilbao de Cestoball.
